Blog Post #1 - Colin McKay

 Hi everyone, the social media platform I have chosen to discusses YouTube, and specifically the podcast titled "Nightcap" which is hosted by two former NFL players, Chad (Johnson) Ochocinco, and Shannon Sharpe. The podcast highlights drama from around the NFL in regards to locker room issues, team play, or something a player, coach, manager, analyst or whoever may have said in an interview. The podcast heavily focuses on sports, specifically the NFL, but the two also go off topic a lot and discuss stories from their careers, lives, and everything in between. The two pair very well together and they way they interact provides a lot of humour and entertainment for the viewer watching. The two also have many guests come on the show, with the most notable, and recent guest being Katt Williams! This podcast is something I watch a lot as a daily source of entertainment and humour, and could be something others may be interested in.

    Hey Colin, I really enjoyed your post on the Nightcap podcast. I have never been to big into watching sports but, I have come across clips of this podcast numerous times while scrolling on tik tok. From what i've seen of this podcast ide have to say that I find the most fascinating part to be how well they combine NFL observations and information with their own personal anecdotes to keep a blend of both sports and entertainment. I also find it to be very clear that the hosts of this podcast have a great amount of chemistry, which is super clear by their same sense of humour and the overall ways they interact in their podcast and still giving the complete picture of what goes on in the sports world. Thank you for sharing , I do think many people would find this type of content very entertaining.

    Colin this is a podcast that I enjoy watching as well. I used to watch skip and sahannon but tyhey had a falling out. When Ocho joined Shannon I thought that they had a really cool dynamioc as they are both previous and also really good NFL players. When Iwatch the podcast I find it intresting because they are always coming from a players perspective and gives more of the feeliong of locker room talk as skip could not really provide that part as much.

  There is a Spotify playlist called “Homegrown” which I listen to very often because of the amount of artists and their songs that are included in it. I am a big fan of country music and the playlist contains many of the artists that I enjoy, such as Sam Barber, Zach Bryan, Josh Meloy, etc. This playlist has a variety of different types of songs that I would listen to while completing many tasks throughout the day. I like to listen to a pretty wide range of songs and “Homegrown” is a great playlist for that. I know many people here do not listen to country music, but if so, I really recommend this playlist!

      In the movie Eighth grade it follows a young girl by the name of Kayla who is having a hard time not only fitting in with her peers at school, but also has trouble fitting in online as well. Kayla demonstrates a high degree of social anxiety, and it is very evident she just wants people to like her. Kayla, with limited people to talk too and virtually no friends, leans on creating YouTube videos in order to connect with others. Kayla's videos consist of her providing advice to her viewers, such as how to always be confident, and tips on how to socialize to others, things that she has no real experience in. These videos give Kayla a way to connect to not only her peers but other people around the world, and also give her something to feel good about as she's helping others. Blog post 1- Cole Culina

  I have always taken interest in other people's lifestyles and why and how they and how they have accepted to live a certain way.  Recently I have found out about this  YouTube creator by the name of Tyler Oliveria.  Tyler goes to these places where there are a lot of issues and documents as well as interviews the people that live in these communities.  Tyler gives insights but also figures out why things are the way they are from the people that live in the unfortunate situations.  I have always found this kind of content interesting because I wondered why people live certain ways  but through the content I have realized that it is not always a choice and people get put into bad situations.  The link to his YouTube channel is https://www.youtube.com/@TylerOliveira where you can watch and find his videos.
